RoomT10 - Team Tumanako (Welcome 2018)

Tena Koutou Katoa

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome back to school! My name is Shivani Anand and I am going to be your child’s teacher this year.

At Rowandale we have an open door policy so please take the opportunity to pop in to say hello or ask me any questions. I’m available between 8:30 to 8:50am before school. If necessary phone the office to make an appointment before you see me.
One way you can help your child’s learning this year is by reading with them at home. Asking them simple questions about the characters, what the story is about and getting them to retell the story in their own words. This will help their progress in reading and also help across the board with other subjects. Any help given at home will be much appreciated. Your child will also get ten spelling words to learn every week and they will be tested every Friday. So please encourage your child to learn his/her spelling words every week.
Swimming: We are extremely lucky to have swimming 2 times a week for the first term. We will be working on our swimming skills, as well as having fun.
Monday 1:45-2:15
Friday 11:40-12:10
Please ensure your child brings their togs and a towel in a bag on these days.
Uniform: Please ensure your child is coming to school with the correct uniform so that we are all looking smart. Please ensure their uniform is clearly labelled so if it gets lost or is misplaced we can locate the owner.
Lunches: We are also proud to be a healthy eating school so thank you for ensuring our children have healthy morning tea and lunch. We are a water only school, so no fizzy drinks, juices, takeaways or orange chips.

Meet the teacher evening is on 20th February 2018
Class Blogs: Please check our class blogs to view your child’s work and learning.
I believe that by all of us working together we can make this a very successful year. I am looking forward to seeing you at Meet the Teacher evening on the 20th February.

Thanks,
Shivani Anand
